RENAIXANCE: EXPLORING FLUIDITY IN THE ERA OF DIGITAL REBIRTH
RenaiXance is inspired by the Renaissance period of the 16th century, an era of rapid social and cultural change, but reimagines its spirit and energy for our technological age.
RenaiXance asks us to challenge the status quo through the digital world. The collection includes 9 NFTs each rich with their own folklore, based on gaming characters but remixing their aesthetic to correspond to The Fabricant’s ‘Pluriform’ design philosophy. Our belief is that fashion should be fluid and genderless - in the digital terrain we can express multiple selves and identities.

Sustainability
Like many of you The Fabricant has followed the sustainability conversation around NFTs and the minting process. There’s a lot of work happening within the crypto community right now to resolve the issues around the energy use of NFTs, which requires shifting from a proof-of-work to a proof-of-stake process that will significantly reduce the carbon impact of NFTs. Until the change in the minting process is actioned, we are working with Offsetra. Offestra calculates the carbon impact of our work and offsets it so our digital fashion NFT creations are carbon negative, meaning the amount of CO2 emissions we remove from the atmosphere is greater than those we contribute to.
